The Colors of Music: live tour 2025
Tullio De Piscopo, a legend of Italian and international music, has left an indelible mark with his style, his rhythm, and his colors, along with all the details that come directly from his roots. Naples, the alleys, the chatter of the people, the melodies of the loud voices of street vendors. Sounds that Tullio already 'lived' in his youth during the warm summer mornings, images of his father lowering the basket from the window with coins inside in exchange for a fig leaf that wrapped fragrant white mulberries.
All of this has allowed Tullio to build his music with a completely personal and independent imprint, always stubbornly avoiding the temptation to follow the "fashion of the moment".
His musical personality and style are universally recognized and evidenced by great historical collaborations with artists of the caliber of Astor Piazzolla, Quincy Jones, John Lewis and the Modern Jazz Quartet, Gerry Mulligan, Richie Havens, Chet Baker, Don Costa. And in Italy, Pino Daniele, Mina, Fabrizio De André, Franco Battiato, Severino Gazzelloni. And then in jazz, Enrico Intra, Franco Cerri, the Basso-Valdambrini quintet, Renato Sellani, Luciano Milanese, Dino Piana, Kay Windyng. And one
could continue listing an extremely vast and surprising roster.
A rich collection of successes that have made the Neapolitan musician a pioneer of Mediterranean sound, recognized with important awards, the honor from the Medicean Academy, the Golden Lion for career achievements, the 100 Italian Excellences award, and lastly, the Tenco Award for the 'Sounds of Song'.
On stage, there will be tributes to Pino Daniele, historic drum solos, and a stunning interpretation of the masterpiece Libertango, a result of the collaboration with Astor Piazzolla, with whom he has recorded a total of 10 LPs over time, along with the tracks that brought Tullio De Piscopo to popular success (Namina, Pummarola Blues, Andamento Lento).
Tullio continues undeterred to convey his passion for music and teaching, uniting generations and cultures in this extraordinary sound journey. "The Colors of Music" is much more than a concert: it's a journey through genres, emotions, and life stories.
