What could be better than a life of food and wine tasting?
We don’t mean to boast, but if you’re looking for food and wine excellence, you’ve come to the right place. Customs, traditions and identity are all in our food and wine. This alchemy makes Garda Veneto heaven for even the pickiest of customers.
It is no chance that many Michelin star chefs have chosen this land to perform their culinary magic: Leandro Luppi (Ristorante Vecchia Malcesine in Malcesine), Paolo Cappuccio (Ristorante La Casa degli Spiriti in Costermano) and Giuseppe d’Acquino (Ristorante Oseleta at Relais Villa Cordevigo in Cavaion Veronese).
It’s all because of our land’s unique and genuine products, such as EVOO Olio Extravergine di Oliva del Garda DOP, fish, the exceptionally tender garronese veneta meat, or Monte Baldo truffle: this is why you eat well in any of our restaurants!
Have you ever tasted the Tortellini di Valeggio sul Mincio? They are a matchless classic with their very own festival, Festa del Nodo d’Amore, held every year in June in Borghetto di Valeggio, with a table set outdoors on the Visconti bridge.
What is their secret? Wafer thin pasta knotted by hand to seal a delicious filling: celery, carrots, onion, Garda extravirgin olive oil, pork, pulped veal, beef stew, chicken liver, salt, nutmeg, egg. And white wine, usually Custoza.
Our wines, like Bardolino or Lugana, are bought and exported in the whole world, and so are Amarone and Valpolicella, produced across the Adige. They are the star of many enogastronomic events that are organized by the lake or inland practically all year round.
Now do you fancy a slow food holiday surrounded by nature and quality food?
