Canoeing is a sport of high speed and resistence which uses boats with an extremely tapered form, in which the athlete sits on small seats, facing towards the stern, and use oars to make the craft move. Being capable of keeping the boat balanced, using at the same time the maximum of strength in the oars, is an essential gift for canoeing.

The type of craft depends on the number of rowers. Most of all on the lower part of Lake Garda you can find some specialised and recognised centres to learn and practise, in complete safety, this sport will grant you strong emotions and the enjoyment of an incredible spectacle from the lake.

Every year, events are organised for the various categories, from children to seniors, with a minimum distance of 1,000m for the children to a maximum of 2,000m for the adults (olimpic distances), which fascinate and attract, with their folklore, tourists and passersby, even though the duration of the race is only 7 minutes at the most.
