“Men on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown” tells the story of Vincenzo, Gianni, Nicola, and Pino, four friends who meet every Monday to play poker. But the wives... but the women...

Nothing has changed the old habit, not even their respective marriages. Vincenzo, Ciccio to his friends, has been married for years and has two children; Nicola has none and has been married for only two years, but has been through six or seven cohabitations. Pino has been separated for a few months and has one child, while Gianni has just been married for six months.
Different situations but with a common root: the WOMAN problem.
The game takes place at Pino's house. From the very beginning, it becomes clear that it will be almost impossible to play because Nicola, in the midst of a crisis with his wife, has just come from one of the many violent arguments and slowly involves everyone else in the discussion. The game soon transforms into a group therapy session focused on the harassment our poor MEN endure, victims destined to pay for the sins committed by previous generations, perpetually in “genetic deficiency” regarding women. The evening is ruined, at least for the game, but suddenly an unexpected idea from Pino enlivens the discussion: to use the amounts each has put in for the game to pay for an escort. From that moment on, the problems of the mismatched quartet with the indecipherable female universe will shift from the realm of dialectics to that of practice. In a whirlwind of comedic situations and hilarious gags, the four will have to come to terms with themselves before they tackle “the other half of the sky,” leading to a surprising ending, as is best tradition in farcical theater.
