The path begins to the right of the parish church of Garda, crossing the historic village of Canevini Bassi, where a staircase on the left leads to the Old Fortress.
The Old Fortress, inhabited since prehistoric times, shows traces dating back to the Paleolithic with remains of medieval walls and also trenches from the two Great Wars of the 19th century dug by military personnel and civilians for defensive purposes.
A short detour at the beginning of the staircase allows you to reach another beautiful viewpoint where the statue of the Madonna del Pign is located.
Once at the saddle of the Fortress, moving to the left, you reach the Hermitage of the Camaldolese, an ancient Benedictine monastery founded in 1663, a place of peace and meditation.
