Guerrieri Rizzardi, the historic wine house in the Veneto region, is a result of the union between two ancient Veronese wine producers of substance: the Counts Guerrieri, owners of a centuries-old estate with vineyards and cellars in Bardolino, and the Counts Rizzardi, who acquired their vineyards in Negrar back in 1649, building the historic cellar of Pojega shortly thereafter.
The Vineyards and wine cellars are located in Bardolino, the centre of the DOC Classico zone. Guerrieri Rizzardi vineyards are situated in 2 of the exclusive 6 villages of Classico: Bardolino and Cavaion which are all located on hillsides on the eastern coastline of Lake Garda.
Guerrieri Rizzardi make full use of the region’s best native grapes (Corvina, Corvinone, Garganega) but we also plant other Italian and International grape varieties including Barbera, Sangiovese, Merlot and Chardonnay due to their suitability to our soils. Guerrieri Rizzardi believes in producing wines as an expression of the soil and of the grape variety, thus enhancing the unique personality and character of each wine.
From 2011 the company’s base and the main winery of Guerrieri Rizzardi was relocated to the vineyard area of Campazzi in the hills surrounding Bardolino. Within easy reach of the town of Bardolino, here visitors can book guided tours in Italian, English or German and experience the entire winemaking process from the vineyard to the bottling. The tour ends with the tasting of a selection of wines, extra virgin olive oil tasting and some typical local antipasti such as cold cuts and cheese.
