Looking at it today, Villa Bottona appears as a castle immersed in greenery, with battlemented walls and a tower that winks at the lake, just a few steps from the azure waters of Lake Garda. The villa, named so for the large barrels where wine was once stored, assumes its current neo-medieval appearance only at the end of the 19th century. The original construction is much older, but before 1872, its history is lost in the mists of time. It is certain, however, that those who lived before Villa Bottona tended to the lands, enjoying the beautiful climate of the lake. Today it is open as a wine relais.
