Brenner Pass closure – traffic update 30 May 2026

Road closure

On Saturday 30 May 2026, a demonstration is planned in Gries am Brenner (Austria), which will cause a temporary interruption of traffic through the Brenner Pass, both northbound and southbound.

The closure will be in effect and will affect:

  • the A13 Brenner motorway, between the national border (Italy) and the Schönberg toll station (Austria), from 11:00 to 19:00;
  • the B182 federal road on the Austrian side of the pass, from 11:00 to 19:00;
  • the A22 Brennero motorway, between the Vipiteno toll station and the national border (Italy), closed northbound from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This will be a weekend with particularly heavy traffic, due to the return flow after the Pentecost holiday period and the upcoming Italian public holiday on 2 June. In this context, delays and traffic queues are expected both during the closure hours and in the periods before and after the event.
