An ancient livestock fair, it has long been a stop for tasting new oil. The Santa Caterina fair is dedicated to olive oil, one of the tastiest products of Lake Garda. The origins of this fair are lost in the mists of time.
Over the years, the fair has also become a moment for tasting new oil, until it has transformed into a real oil exhibition-market. The oil obtained here is a fruity extra virgin, with the peculiarity of a very low level of acidity, delicate aroma, intense to marked golden green color due to the high chlorophyll content.
There are many food and wine events linked to the event, organized by the restaurants in the area. Numerous initiatives, all in the name of PDO extra virgin olive oil, among which the tasting courses on oil stand out, with the aim of highlighting the organoleptic characteristics of this product.
It will also be possible to buy the oil at the mills and the premises participating in the event.
The Ancient Fair of Santa Caterina takes place on November 25th and is also a religious holiday.
