Betoneghe se nasse, no se deventa
The title says it all: being Betoneghe is a very specific way of being and relating to others.
Silvana, Renata, and Franca are! (and often also offstage!). By narrating everyday life events, they capture the audience in such a way that you almost forget you are in a theater, instead feeling transported to a familiar environment, like the living room at home, or depending on the setting the actresses propose, the church, the hairdresser, the gym that we all, some more than others, frequent.
The show is touring all the theaters of Veneto, always attracting a large audience at every performance because, in a simple and genuine way, but at the same time attentive and studied, it brings to the stage situations we all experience, giving us the chance to laugh at ourselves and see some aspects of our character with lightness.
Many themes are tackled during the settings of the Betoneghe. From fights with husbands, to eating and gaining weight, to volunteer work at the parish, to getting ready at the hairdresser, but in short, it’s just an excuse to always and only “gossip.” In fact, the motto of the Betoneghe is “Want to mind your own business?? Come listen to the Betoneghe. They have a little venomous word for everyone!”.
Enhancing the show is a sequence of songs written specifically by Tiratirache (a theater song company from Portogruaro), but sung by the multifaceted artist Cristian Ricci and the musicians of the Teatro delle Arance, who, through “brilliant” lyrics, accompany our protagonists in everything they say.
Let’s not forget to mention that even though the audience knows them as Silvana, Renata, and Franca, the actresses are actually Giovanna Digito (author and director of the Teatro delle Arance), Stefania Florian, and Claudia Digito.
