The municipality of Garda, on the Veronese shores of the lake, will host six days of screenings, meetings with authors and protagonists of Italian cinema in a landscape of unique charm.
The new Film Festival “Garda Cinema,” directed by journalist and film critic Franco Dassisti, and organized by the Decima Musa Association, takes place in collaboration with the Municipality of Garda and other entities, with the patronage of Regione Veneto and Provincia di Verona. The main venues are the courtyard of the Municipality and the Congress Hall of Garda, featuring screenings, guest meetings, and art exhibitions. The pre-opening evening will be dedicated to Isabella Ferrari, awarded the Shooting Star Prize, who will present the film "Nel tepore del ballo" by Pupi Avati and participate in a discussion about her career.
The Festival also includes an International Short Film Competition, with 33 works from all over the world, divided between fiction and documentaries, all in dialogue with the central theme. The jury will then award prizes for the competition categories and a special recognition for culture. Expected guests include Giorgio Pasotti, Milvia Marigliano, Massimiliano Gallo, Giovanni Esposito, and Francesco Mandelli.
The Festival also promotes art exhibitions, such as that of Pasqualin Milesi, and aims to enhance the territory of Garda through cinema and visual arts, strengthening the cultural image of the lake and creating opportunities for meeting and growth.
The Garda Cinema Festival 2026 is shaping up to be an event of great cultural appeal, with a strong commitment to dialogue between cinema, art, and territory, focusing on collective reflection on the theme of happiness and promoting new talents and quality productions.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.gardacinema.com/tickets or on-site on the day of the event, at the Box-office of the Arena Garda Cinema open from 6:30 p.m. until the start of the screening.
