Starting from March 1, 2026, one of the most evocative and symbolic places in the area will be open to visit again, a landmark for historical memory and local identity. A special opportunity to rediscover the past, immerse oneself in history, and experience an authentic cultural encounter, surrounded by the landscape of the morainic hills.
The Ossuary houses the remains of those who fell in the battles of Custoza, fought in 1848 and 1866, crucial moments of the Italian Risorgimento that led to the unification of Italy. Visiting this site means approaching a fundamental page of our national history, through a journey laden with meaning and suggestion.
The reopening represents an opportunity for citizens, visitors, and history enthusiasts to learn about or rediscover a heritage of great historical and cultural value, set in a landscape of rare beauty.
On the occasion of the reopening, entry will be free for residents of the Municipality of Sommacampagna. Since it is the first Sunday of the month, residents will be able to access the monument for free for the entire day.
