The village of Brentino Belluno between tradition and folklore
Corteggiando in Valdadige is a cultural food and wine festival held every summer in the village of Brentino Belluno. The event celebrates local traditions, typical products from the Valdadige valley, and the identity of the area, transforming the village courtyards into welcoming open-air spaces with carefully curated settings, warm atmospheres, and moments of shared conviviality.
During the festival, visitors can enjoy tastings of Valdadige DOC wines, river trout, black truffle, and carne salà, prepared according to traditional recipes. The program also features live performances, creative workshops, and activities for all ages, offering a complete experience that blends culture, gastronomy, and folklore.
One of the most spectacular highlights of the festival is a stage of the National Barrel Racing Palio, where teams from villages belonging to the National Association “Città del Vino” compete by rolling 500-litre barrels along uphill and downhill courses. With enthusiastic crowds and a lively festive atmosphere, the race is one of the most popular events for visitors.
The project was launched in 2015 by the Valdadige Committee, made up of the Municipality of Brentino Belluno and local associations, with the aim of creating a non-profit food and wine festival.
Since its first edition, held on the first weekend of July, Corteggiando in Valdadige has promoted local products—particularly wines—and showcased the beauty of the village, located at the foot of the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Corona.
Over the years, the festival has grown, receiving the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Province of Verona. It has also expanded its activities to include street performances, market stalls, wine tastings, and outdoor sports such as rafting, climbing, and canyoning in the Vajo dell’Orsa.
