Located in the hamlet of Platano in Caprino Veronese, this monumental tree dates back to 1370 and is considered the largest plane tree in Italy.

Standing over 25 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of around 15 meters and a canopy covering 300 square meters, this green giant is also the center of intriguing historical anecdotes. In 1937, during the Italian Army’s Summer Maneuvers, a company of one hundred Bersaglieri reportedly hid among its branches, while in 1944 German troops attempted to trim it, fearing partisan ambushes.
