A walk through history

Set among the moraine hills, Sona is a municipality with authentic fascination, where the beauty of the landscape reaches out to the richness of the past. 

Midway between Verona and Lake Garda, the territory presents a succession of vineyards, olive groves, and cherry orchards, dotted with historical villas and farmsteads that recount the presence of the Lombards, Romans, Scaligeri, and the Republic of Venice. But it is also a place marked by memory, as demonstrated by the war memorial in Palazzolo — the first in Veneto after World War I — and the suggestive Guglia di Villa Trevisani. Must-see places include: the Parish Church of Santa Giustina, the stunning ‘Arbor redentionis’ in Lugagnano, and the Paleontological and Territorial Origin Museum of Sona.
