A special occasion to relive the history of the Battles of Custoza through cultural meetings and a commemorative ceremony dedicated to the protagonists of the Risorgimento and to the Fallen of 1866.
On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the Veneto's entry into the Kingdom of Italy, the Municipality of Sommacampagna and the Diffused Museum of the Alto Mincio Risorgimento promote a path of deepening and memory dedicated to the Battles of Custoza and the protagonists of the Risorgimento. The program opens with a meeting dedicated to the events of June 24, 1866, and continues with the presentation of a volume that recounts the symbolic and historical value of war relics, offering new perspectives on the memory of the conflict.
The celebrations will culminate on June 24 with the official ceremony in memory of the Fallen of the Battles of Custoza, a solemn and participatory moment that will unite institutions, associations, and citizens in a shared homage to the history of the territory. Among music, reflection, and testimonies, the initiative represents an important opportunity to rediscover the events that contributed to the construction of national identity and to enhance the historical and cultural heritage of Custoza.
