Bagno di Suoni - Concerto Gong
On Tuesday, July 7, at 9.00 a.m., near the beach close to Hotel Du Lac in Porto, there will be an elegant concert featuring the gong and instruments, with the duo Filippo and Marco.
The gong is a class of musical instruments, within the class of idiophones with direct percussion, defined as containers, played with a non-sonorous object, where the vibration is strongest near the vertex.
A gong is typically made from a large metal plate, usually circular in shape. This plate can also be made of brass. The gong is generally considered an instrument with an indefinite pitch, although in some percussion methods it is referred to only as a definite pitch instrument.
The gong is an instrument that dates back over 4,000 years. Although discoveries tend to recognize it as an instrument that originated in ancient China, it is said that the first gongs were found during archaeological excavations conducted in Greece.
