Monte Cricol Monument
Set in the countryside of Oliosi, the Cippo di Monte Cricol commemorates the sacrifice of the fallen Bersaglieri during the Battle of Custoza on June 24, 1866. The monument was erected by the comrades of the 18th Bersaglieri Battalion of the Forlì Brigade in memory of two officers and nine soldiers who lost their lives in the assault on Monte Cricol in the early hours of the morning.
The stele, about 1.20 meters tall and located at the site of the fighting, bears the dedication to the fallen, including Captain Augusto Paselli and Lieutenant Ugo Ciarli.
Even today, it represents a significant testimony of the Third War of Independence and a place of memory that invites knowledge of one of the most important episodes in the Risorgimento history of the territory.
