Escursione a S. Vigilio e le senge
A very scenic trail with beautiful views of the upper and lower part of the lake.
The itinerary starts from the S. Carlo Gardens in front of Villa Albertini and continues along the promenade by the lakeside, reaching the beach while skirting a reed bed. After passing Villa Canossa, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the park until you reach the state road, then continue left and turn right onto Via Castei. Upon reaching the Belvedere, proceed along the ancient connecting road to Torri del Benaco between rocky walls and dense vegetation.
The itinerary is very scenic, with beautiful views of the lake both in the upper and lower parts. The path intersects with the graffiti route, along which you can observe rock engravings dating back to different eras, from the Iron Age to the present day, carved into sedimentary and limestone rocks known as "liscioni".
The total length of the route is 12 km, the elevation gain is 350 m, and the estimated time to complete it is about 4 hours.
Trekking shoes are recommended.
