The Austrian fortifications

It stands at an altitude of 256 meters on Poggio Croce, in a position to control the entire fortified area. The eight-sided polygonal design allowed for greater firepower and coverage of a wide area towards Sandrà and Bussolengo to the south, and the road to Lazise to the west, crossing fire both with Forte Nugent, across the Adige, and with Forte Benedek. Being the command center, it has a greater number of rooms and accommodations. It retains the caponier at the throat, the access bridge, and the original wooden gate.
