The Austrian fortifications

It rises at an altitude of 258 meters, on Poggio Pol. With an octagonal plan, it was able to dominate the Adige area, from S. Lucia di Pol to the plain of Pescantina and towards Bussolengo, and to defend the gorge front of the Leopold fortress.
