Parish Church of San Zeno di Piovezzano

In the heart of Piovezzano stands the Parish Church of San Zeno, a building that tells over a thousand years of history. Its origins likely date back to between the 9th and 10th centuries, when it was a small chapel linked to the parish of Santa Maria di Cisano. In the following centuries, it became a religious reference point for the community, also thanks to the presence of the Benedictine monks from the Abbey of San Zeno in Verona.

In the 17th century, with the establishment of the autonomous parish, a new church was built at the foot of the hill, following the development of the village. The building was later enlarged and transformed until it assumed, at the end of the 19th century, its current elegant neoclassical appearance.

The interior, characterized by a single nave with side chapels and classical decorations, retains a collected and harmonious atmosphere that invites visitation and contemplation.

The church still represents one of the main historical and religious symbols of Piovezzano, a witness to the evolution of the village over the centuries.
