The Lion Gate, the southern entrance of the town, welcomes visitors with a charm rich in history. Its name comes from the Lion of Saint Mark, the symbol of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, visible on the inner side of the gate, a detail that tells the Venetian past of Lazise. Once known as "Porta San Marco," it was equipped with a defensive outwork. Today, it is crossed by the lively Via Rosenheim, adorned with flowers and colors. Crossing it, one can enjoy a splendid perspective of the Scaliger Castle, offering a glimpse of the beauty of the village.
