Via dei Volti is one of the most charming and ancient corners of Sona. Located between via Roma and via Molina, it is characterized by a series of arches that dominate it, making it accessible only to pedestrians and not to vehicles.
It is not easy to know either the precise period of construction or what its function was. Taking advantage of its location near the town center, but secluded and not frequented, the residents of Sona, until just a few decades ago, had taken the bad habit of dumping their waste there, treating it like a true open-air dump. It was necessary to wait until the end of the 1970s for the municipal administration to intervene to clean it up definitively, freeing it from the weeds that invaded it, putting an end to a state of decay and abandonment. In the meantime, the sense of civic duty, respect for hygiene standards, and interest in their historical assets had also grown among the residents of Sona. Since then, Via dei Volti has always remained what it should be: one of the most picturesque views of the town of Sona.
