Villa Becelli

Villa Becelli - Rizzardi is located in the center of Costermano and features a 15th-century palace, built by the Becelli family, enlarged in 1594 and transformed into its current form between 1810 and 1820, with a park at its back leaning against the hill.

The palace, which passed to the Rizzardi family in 1851, has two angular crenellated towers and an arched entrance portal with a coat of arms above it. The ground floor is used for cellars, warehouses, and stables, while the first floor has a central hall and several rooms frescoed with lake and city landscapes and mythological scenes, partly painted by Luigi Divieri in 1818.

Behind it is the park with boxwood hedges and tall plants, and there is an oratory from 1764 dedicated to the Assumption, featuring a gabled façade and trussed ceilings with a vault, along with a marble altar that bears a painting of "Mary Assumed among angels and Saints John the Baptist and Jerome." At the top of the hill, there is a hunting lodge with a walkway – a belvedere overlooking the lake and the plain of Caprino with Mount Baldo.

Unfortunately, at the request of the current owners, the villa is not open to visitors.
