Bardolino rosé wines are offered at the Palio del Chiaretto, a highly renowned food and wine festival on Lake Garda.
For three days, Bardolino will turn pink and provide you with a unique experience that showcases local tradition and deep knowledge of our grapes through tastings.
The Palio del Chiaretto is the event that perfectly blends the entire gastronomic and cultural history of Bardolino, attracting thousands of visitors from across Europe. The pleasant environment of the "Bardolino Chiaretto Doc" production area is that of the Gardesano Veronese territory, covered with vineyards and olive trees. The grape varieties involved in producing Bardolino Chiaretto Doc are: Corvina veronese 35-65%; Rondinella 10-40%; Molinara, Rossignola, Barbera, Sangiovese, Marzemino, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon either alone or blended.
How is Chiaretto produced? It is necessary to monitor the must to separate it from the skins at the ideal moment for absorbing the aromas and color. The rosé winemaking of our red grapes is rooted in local tradition and in the deep understanding of the characteristics of our grapes. This is followed by careful fermentation at a controlled temperature to preserve the characteristic aromas of the grapes. The "Bardolino Chiaretto Doc" sparkling wine, made by natural fermentation methods, can be designated "Spumante Brut," the first of its kind in Italy.
